Joe Mario Domìnguez, age 51 passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born on May 12 th , 1973 in Portales, New Mexico. He graduated from Portales High School in 1991. He married Tonya Meza on his birthday in 2003 and they had 3 children. In 2011 the family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where he was employed with Lea County Septic for the many years.
Mario was a very kind and generous son, brother, uncle and friend, and of course, grandfather. He was a die-hard Steelers’ fan and among his favorite things to do was to go fishing with his sons and uncles. He was a family man at heart. He especially loved to come home to his mom’s house for her freshly-cooked beans and tortillas with butter. Mario was a magnetic person. Wherever he was, people gathered. As a young boy Lindsey Park was the place to be with his brother, cousins and countless friends to play football. One of his last adventures was to fly out to Florida to visit his childhood buddy, Mario Depperman for some more fishing and sharing those countless memories.
He had a heart of gold and was always the first to offer a helping hand. Mario had a winning smile and put everyone at ease with that special grin. On July 7, 2024 he married Elisa Mendoza
and started their life in Hobbs, New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife Elisa Domìnguez, two sons, Mario Domìnguez (Rene) from Roswell, Luis Domìnguez (Quandrea) of Hobbs and a daughter, Vanessa Dominguez (Taylor Jordan) of Clovis, his mother, Eva Silva (Hèctor) of Portales, siblings Jesse Domìnguez (Emily) of Hobbs, Rosa Frayre (Filiberto) of Hobbs, and Ann Domìnguez of Portales, and 6 beautiful grandchildren, Joseph and Bella Leyba, Antonio and Elora Mae Dominguez and Yaretiza and Matias Sanders. He was preceded in death by his father, Vìctor Manuel Domìnguez, uncle David Natividad and nephew Leonardo Enrìquez.
