A celebration of life for Jerry Lee Wood will be held at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the Portales Country Club with Mike Miller speaking.
Jerry Lee Wood passed away on November 7, 2019, in Portales, NM. He was born on August 16, 1939, in Portales, NM, to the home of Etta Lucille Miller and Carl Dan Wood.
Jerry grew up in Floyd, NM and graduated from Floyd High School in 1958. He worked all of his life as a farmer and he loved to keep a garden with fresh vegetables. Jerry also enjoyed playing cards and dominos and watching horse racing. He loved to play golf and enjoyed the company of the many friends he played with. One of his favorite things to do was to watch his grandson roping. Jerry will be greatly miss by his friends and family.
Jerry is survived by his former wife, Lynette Wood; his son, Lance Wood; his grandson, Trent Wood; his nieces and nephews, Britt Lancaster and wife Teresa, Monty Lancaster and wife, Terri, Kim Brady and husband, Matt, Connie Schumacher and husband, Dean and Kyla Gray and husband Clovis, and his many golfing buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tinker Wood and a sister Sharon Peterson.
