Eastern New Mexico Women’s Basketball Head Coach Josh Prock has announced the elevation of Durmon Jennings to Associate Head Coach and the addition of Mikaehla Connor as his new graduate assistant.

“We are extremely excited to announce the title change for Coach Jennings to Associate Head Coach, it is well deserved and he is an extremely hard worker and very loyal young man. Durmon has meant a lot our program and my family,” Coach Prock said. “He continues to exceed expectations and does a tremendous job of working with the young ladies in our program. We are excited to see what we will be able to accomplish in the future. It is such a benefit to have such quality people like Durmon working in our program.”

No stranger to Eastern New Mexico Basketball, Jennings has been a member of the Greyhound family since August of 2015 and has worked with women’s basketball beginning in 2017. He started his ENMU coaching career as graduate assistant for men’s basketball in 2015. Jennings played numerous roles for the Greyhound men’s teams including instructing the guards, individual sessions, managing student assistants, leading community functions, and gameday operations.

In August of 2017, Coach Prock hired Jennings as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and he has played a major role for the Hounds thus far. He oversees the individual sessions with guards and post players, assists with the defense, handles breaking down of game film, assists with team travel, assists with recruiting efforts and helps creates the monthly team newsletter for donors.

Entering the 2018-19 season, it will be Jennings fourth season on the sideline for Greyhound nation. Jennings also works as instructor in the Physical Education department at ENMU teaching a class on basketball and other sports activities, a position he has held since August of 2015.

Also joining the ENMU Women’s Basketball staff is former standout player Mikaehla Connor who just wrapped up a superb three year playing career for the Hounds.

“It is with tremendous enthusiasm to announce Mikaehla Connor as our women’s basketball graduate assistant for the 2018-19 season. KK has played for us for the past three seasons and in those three years helped change the culture of our program. As we were beginning to make a lot of changes in our program a few years ago we knew we needed to find someone who could help lead our program to the championship level,” Coach Prock said. “When she decided to attend ENMU we knew we had found someone that was capable of doing just that. KK has meant a lot to me over the past three seasons and when our graduate assistant spot opened up it was an easy decision for me and we were excited when she accepted. She will be a tremendous asset to our program, players, my family and the people of this community will see that she is one of the bright up and coming stars in our business.”

In three seasons, Connor played in all 84 games for ENMU in that span with 83 starts. This past season, she was chosen to the LSC All-Academic Team for the second straight year in addition to garnering Second Team All-LSC honors. She ranks 19th in career scoring at ENMU and averaged a team-best 10.3 points per game during the 2017-18 campaign. On the other side of the ball, Connor was the top defender against the opposition’s top threat for much of the games. One of the highlights of her season was scoring 15 points in an overtime win at West Texas A&M.

Connor graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in Pre-med this past May. Like Jennings she is no stranger to ENMU and Portales having spent the last three seasons with the Hounds. In her junior season (2016-17) she helped the Hounds finish 20-9 and win a share of the LSC Regular Season Championship en route to a berth to the NCAA Tournament. She was named First Team All-LSC, part of the LSC All-Defensive team, and garnered All-Academic team honors that year.
