Jamie Llanez Ornelas February 12, 2024 ~ November 18, 2024

Jamie Llanez Onrelas was born Feb. 12, 1975 in Amhurst, TX to the home of Virginia  (Llanez) and Bernadino Ornelas and died Nov. 18, 2024 in Roswell, NM.  Mr Ornelas grew up in Portales and made his home back and forth between Eastern New Mexico and West Texas until 2020 when he moved to Mescalero, NM.  He could work on virtually anything and seemed to be able to figure out how to fix it.  Jamie’s specialty was home renovations.  He was blessed with a winning personality, and made many friends.  Jamie always enjoyed listening to Mexican music.

He is survived by his companion, Sherry Kazhe-Garcia of Mescalero; his son, Dakota Ornelas of Portales; his daughter, J. B. Ornelas and her companion Francisco of Portales; two brothers, Benny Ornelas, Jr. and Zeke Ornelas both of Portales; and two sisters, Gracie Lujan and Jessica Rojas both of Seminole, TX.

A public viewing for Mr. Ornelas was at Wheeler Mortuary on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024.  Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Portales Cemetery at a later time.
