WACO, Texas – Eastern New Mexico returned to the receiving votes category in the latest AFCA Division II National Coaches Poll following a 27-24 win over Midwestern State on Saturday.
The Hounds have received votes in three different polls so far this season following wins in week one over Missouri S&T and Colorado Mesa in week two. Eastern New Mexico’s win on Saturday night in week five against Midwestern State marks the third time the Greyhounds have defeated a team who was receiving votes in the national polls.
Eastern was given two votes and joins Lone Star Conference foes Angelo State and West Texas A&M in the receiving votes category. Texas A&M-Commerce moved up to no. 21 while this weekend’s opponent Tarleton State held steady at no. 4.
That match-up against Tarleton State is scheduled to kick-off on Saturday night at 6 p.m. inside Greyhound Stadium.
