Eastern New Mexico remained in the receiving votes category in the latest AFCA Division II National Poll.
The Hounds received a single vote in this week’s poll and have now been featured in the receiving votes category in four different weeks throughout the season. Eastern New Mexico remained in the poll thanks to key early season wins over Missouri S&T and Midwestern State, despite a loss last weekend at home against #4 Tarleton State.
Eastern features the nation’s top rushing attack with an average of 378.5 yards per game and ranks third in the conference in total offense with an average of 435.2 yards per game. Senior Paul Terry has been the focal point of the Hounds offense, running for 100 yards or more in every game this season and ranks second in all of Division II football with 987 yards and six touchdowns for the year.
Eastern New Mexico will take on rival Western New Mexico on Saturday evening in the annual Chile Bowl. Kick-off for that match-up is set for 6 p.m. in Silver City, N.M.
