On the mound, Lane Saunders earned his first win of the season, throwing an inning of relief while Dwight Velarde picked up his second save of the year. Velarde went 3.1 innings, scattering four hits and two walks for a pair of runs while fanning four.

The Hounds struck for three runs in each of the first two innings to take an early edge. McNicholl would then go first to third on a single from Webster and came in to score on a groundout by Blake Frye.

In the second, Gabriel Vargas tagged a one-out single through the left side of the infield when DeLaCruz picked up his second hit of the day with a base knock up the middle. With two outs, Villalona launched his three-run shot to left-center to extend the lead to 6-1.

ENMU would add a pair of runs in each the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to stave off a comeback attempt by the Rams.
