Elida hosted Clovis Christian on Friday night. Kickoff was at 7 PM. The Tigers were looking for a win after heading into the game with a 2-3 record.
Clovis Christian quickly took charge of the game, leaving Elida stunned at the end of one quarter with a deficit of 24-0. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the 2nd quarter wasn’t much better. Despite Elida adding 13, Clovis Christian added another 29. By the end of the first half, Elida was down 53-13.
The second half faired better for the Tigers, who matched 6 for 6 in the 3rd and held the Eagles to only 10 in the 4th. The deficit from the first half was too much to overcome, and the Tigers lost 69-19.
Elida is now 2-4 this season. Their next game is scheduled for October 1 at 7 PM in Elida where they’ll host Mountainair.
