PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Athletics recently announced Nicolle Holcomb as the department’s new Sports Information Director.

Holcomb will be tasked with the promotion of the 16 intercollegiate sports teams offered at Eastern New Mexico and will assume her responsibilities immediately. Holcomb recently completed a tenure as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.

“I want to thank everyone involved on the search committee for this opportunity,” Holcomb said, “I am excited to start at Eastern New Mexico as the Sports Information Director and look forward to promoting the success of ENMU student-athletes and programs.”

Holcomb served as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Guilford from August of 2019 until December of 2020. During that time she contributed to the media coverage of Guilford’s 20 intercollegiate athletic programs while also assisting in the supervision of student workers for a variety of roles within the athletic department.

Holcomb completed a two-year span as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant from 2017-to-2019 at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., during which time she was the primary contact for field hockey, men’s soccer, women’s ice hockey, women’s basketball, softball and women’s lacrosse. She also assisted in the promotion of multiple NCAA tournament appearances as well as athletic and academic All-Americans.

The New York native got her start in the Sports Information Field with internships at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. and The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J. before being hired as an Athletic Communications Assistant at Colgate in 2017.

Holcomb earned her Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration from Endicott College in May of 2019. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from SUNY Oneonta.
