CANYON, TEXAS — Senior Julian Heredia homered and drove in three runs as the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team (14-7; LSC 0-1) opened Lone Star Conference play, Friday evening at Wilder Park. The Greyhounds got off to a quick start, but #16 West Texas A&M (19-7; LSC 1-0) rallied to pick up an 8-5 win.

Zach Shank drove in a fourth run for Eastern in the second after Malcolm Smith singled and stole second
The Buffaloes scored three runs on the third inning on doubles from Luis Amaro and Nick Canas
Chris Padilla doubled in the ENMU fourth and scored on a squeeze bunt from Shank to extend the Greyhound lead to 5-3
WT scored four runs in the bottom of the inning and held on for an 8-5 win
Padilla and Smith both hit 2-for-4
Heredia hit 3-for-4 in the game
Joe Corbett tossed seven innings to earn the win for the Buffaloes
