Obituary

A memorial service for Harvey Wanda Stephenson will be held at 10:30 AM, Thurs, Dec. 2, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley McAfee officiating.  Those desiring to make memorial contributions may send them to the Calvary Baptist Church food ministry.

Harvey Wanda Stephenson passed peacefully Nov. 26, 2021at the age of 74.  Wanda was born July 30, 1947 to Harvey and Olga Hill in Houston, TX.  When Wanda was 13, her family moved to Portales, NM.  Wanda was well known in the community, having worked for many years at Luke’s Doc’s and Pat’s Drive Ins.  She also drove bus 16 at Shearers Bus Shed.  Wanda made many lifetime friends.

Wanda married Edwin J. Stephenson November 3, 1979.  Edwin J. Stephenson III (Trey) was born to them May 1980.  Wanda was blessed with Eddie’s four daughters, Kelley, Kristy, Karla and Karen and their families.

Wanda loved the Lord and lived her life as a Christian.  She attended Calvary Baptist Church.  Wanda was the kindest, most unselfish person you could meet.  She will be greatly missed.

Wanda is survived by her son and four daughters and their families; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Anderson and Mona Roberts; as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.  Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, who passed on Nov. 16, 2010, her parents and brother.
