October 31 is coming to a close, and the night was full of safe, family fun, despite the chilly temperatures.

Halloween on the High Plains was a success.

The City of Portales was bustling starting at 3:30pm, with local businesses participating in a safe trick or treating event. Many churches and other organizations in both Portales and Clovis hosted Trunk or Treats and festivals for families to enjoy, and kids of all ages were dressed as super heroes, witches, animals, and even old ladies!

“Halloween was awesome. I loved being old, everyone paid attention to me. The weather was cold, but it didn’t ruin the fun. Best Halloween ever!”

– Abby (10 years old)
