Graveside services for Guadalupe Arcoamarillo, 79, of Portales, will be announced at a later time.
Guadalupe Arcoamarillo was born May 13, 1942 in Noconi Grande, Sonora, Mexico to Enriqueta Arcoamarillo and Jose Quirgo, and died Dec. 17, 2021 in Fort Worth, TX. She and Raul Acosta came to Portales in 1995, and purchased a small acreage outside of Portales. For a number of years, she competed in several events in the Senior Olympics including Frisbee, Shuffleboard, Basketball and walking. Over the years, she had won numerous medals. She enjoyed knitting and sewing as well as cooking. Her tamales were among her specialties. Ms Arcoamarillo had a beautiful singing voice, and loved music and dancing. She and Mr. Acosta were regulars for many years at the Senior Citizen dances where they were known for their very smooth performance. Ms Arcoamarillo enjoyed going to the casino where she would play the slot machines for hours. She also liked to play Bingo. She and Mr. Acosta were married on Dec. 1, 2020 in Portales.
She is survived by her husband, Raul Acosta of their home; a son, Manuel Lauro Quiroga of Hermosillo, Mexico; nine daughters, Maria Carmen Valle of Yuma, AZ, Irma Enriqueta of Hermosillo, Mexico, Maria Guadalupe of Yuma, AZ, Mariel de Virgin of Hermosillo, Mexico, Maria Luadres de Hemienta of Yuma, AZ, Maria de Lores of Hermosillo, Mexico, Francisca Reimos de Armenta of Yuma, AZ, Ana Julia of Hermosillo, Mexico and Madia Quiroga-Puebla also of Hermosillo, Mexico; and 29 grandchildren.
