The Eastern New Mexico University football team (4-1; LSC 3-1) is off to its best start in more than 10 years and is gaining national recognition. A poll at www.CompughterRatings.com currently lists the Greyhounds as the 23rd-best team in the NCAA Division II.

The poll has four Lone Star Conference teams in its top 30. Texas A&M-Commerce ranks third, Tarleton State is 27th, and Midwestern State is 28th. Defending National Champion Northwest Missouri State topped the list.

The Eastern New Mexico University Football team will return to Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium for this Saturday’s Homecoming game. The contest against UT-Permian Basin is sponsored by JP Stone Community Bank and is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. MT.
