Men’s Basketball  Nicolle Holcomb

The Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team is set to host Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith this week in Lone Star Conference action. The Hounds take on the Eagles on Thursday, January 6 at 6 p.m. and then face the Lions at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Eastern New Mexico men’s basketball team enters the week with a 4-6 overall record. Previously the Hounds fell, 72-63, at Texas A&M International on Friday, December 31.
• Kentrell Pullian led the Greyhound offense with 14 points. JaQuan Morris and Yosnier Cobas each added 10 points.
• Defensively, Cornell Greenwood paced Eastern with six rebounds, while Morris was close behind with five. Greenwood also had a game-high five steals throughout the contest.
• Jared Perry ended the game with a team-high two blocks.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION 

Oklahoma Christian
• The Oklahoma Christian University Eagles enter the weekend with a 4-8 overall record and 1-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
• OC fell, 91-56, to No. 3/4 West Texas A&M on Sunday, January 2. Drew Tennial led OC with 13 points and five rebounds. D.J. Walter, Moun’Tae Edmundson and Justin Nimmer each scored eight points, Nimmer doing so on 4-of-5 shooting.
• Offensively, Tennial averages 13.2 points per game, while Karlyn Jenner adds 10.3 points per game. Tennial also leads the way devensively with 6.6 rebounds per game. Walter is close behind with 5.3 boards per game.

UAFS 
• The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions enter the weekend with an 8-5 overall record and 2-0 mark in LSC play. UAFS will face No. 1 nationally-ranked Lubbock Christian on Thursday, Jan. 6 before taking on ENMU in Greyhound Arena on Saturday.
• The Lions defeated Cameron University, 74-63, on Sunday, Jan. 2. Courtney Murrell scored 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting while adding three steals and two assists. Murrell connected on his first six shots from the field. Evan Anderson had seven assists and no turnovers, while also adding 11 points and two blocks. Alex Brogdon and David Ekezie added eight and seven points, respectively.
• Matthew Wilson paces the offense with 21.4 points per game. Chris Rollins adds 13.3 points per game. Defensively, Rollins leads the way as he averages 6.4 rebounds per game.
