The Lone Star Conference released its Commissioner’s Honor Roll to highlight the academic achievements for the 2017-18 spring semester. Of the 1,039 student-athletes that were named to the list, Eastern New Mexico University had the fifth-most with 107 honorees. ENMU was third in the LSC with 140 honorees in the fall, to finish with 247 total for the year.
“We are extremely proud of the academic achievements our student-athletes continue to post,” said ENMU Athletics Director Dr. Greg Waggoner. “This demonstrates their commitment to their academics while competing well in their intercollegiate sports. Credit also goes to the coaching staff, support staff, faculty and the ENMU administration for all that they do to facilitate an environment to make this happen.”
Of the honorees, 335 student athletes posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. ENMU had 35 student-athletes finish with a perfect GPA. The Greyhound had 48 4.0 GPA’s in the fall semester which led the LSC and puts them at 78 for the academic year.
To be eligible for the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a student athlete must have at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the designated semester and be on a roster. The league releases its honor roll at the conclusion of each semester of the academic year.
