TYLER, TEXAS – The Eastern New Mexico baseball team traveled to No. 17 nationally-ranked UT Tyler on Friday evening for the first contest in a three-game series. The Greyhounds fell to the Patriots, 12-0.

UT Tyler saw the biggest offensive output in the third inning with seven runs after taking advantage of several Eastern errors. The Patriots closed the door on the win in the sixth with a three-run homer from Tanner Roach.

Pacing the Hounds offensively was Cole Luedeking who went 2-for-3 at the plate and had a stolen base. Matthew Kory and Kian Johnston also had hits for Eastern in the contest.

James Romero got the start on the mound and was credited with the loss. Jason VasilStephen Rausa, and Robert Nidy all saw time on the hill as well.

For the Patriots, Johnnie Krawietz earned the win with nine strikeouts in six innings of work.

Eastern and UT Tyler meet again on Saturday, March 13 for the final two games in the series starting at 12 p.m.
