Last week, the Greyhounds opened up the 2021 outdoor season with a strong showing at the Spring Break Classic hosted by West Texas A&M.
Jessica Campbell topped the high jump event with a 5-5.0 (1.65-meter) performance. She also finished second in the javelin with a throw of 119-1.5 (36.31 meters) and ninth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.19). Her high jump and 100m hurdles performances were program records. In the shot put, Tamia Smith placed second with a personal-best and program record 41-7.75 (12.69-meter) throw.
Overall, the women’s team saw six individual top-10 performances on the track and the men’s team had one with Dan Hurren earning eighth in the 800 meter (1:57.73).
