PORTALES, NM — After ranking 24th last week, the Eastern New Mexico University men’s track and field team vaulted to 20th in this week’s United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll. The move came after a strong performance in the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Marcus Parker leads the charge and leads the nation in the 100m dash, and achieved automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships. Kenneth Lloyd currently is tied for fifth in the country in the high jump. The Hounds are joined by three Lone Star Conference teams in the top 20. Texas A&M-Kingsville ranks second, Angelo State is fifth, and West Texas A&M tenth.
The Eastern New Mexico University track & field team will be in action this weekend at the West Texas A&M Classic & Multis.
