The duo of Marcus Parker and Kenneth Lloyd registered outstanding performances on the final day of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, and led the Eastern New Mexico University men’s team to a 16th-place finish. Parker competed for the Hounds in the 60 and 200m dashes, while Lloyd participated in the high jump.
The Greyhounds compiled 13 points to tie for 16th with West Texas A&M and Missouri Southern. The meet was won by Pittsburg State’s 49 points, while Tiffin accumulated 48 points as the runner up.
Lloyd’s high jump of 7’0.25″ was just 1.25″ shy of Carson Newman’s Tanner Step (7’1.5″) championship effort. It also earned a third-place finish and marked his second leap of at least 7′ for the season.
Parker placed fifth in the 200m dash with a sprint of 21.37 seconds. His time edged Texas A&M-Commerce’s Rashard Clark by just .04 seconds. Parker also took sixth place in the 60m dash with a time of 6.76.
The Eastern New Mexico University track & field team will open the outdoor segment of its schedule on Saturday, March 24th with the ENMU Open.
