The Eastern New Mexico University basketball teams will hit the road this week to continue their Lone Star Conference schedules. Both teams will play key games which will impact their standings in the league.

On Thursday, the Hounds will play a Lone Star Conference doubleheader at Cameron University. The women’s game will tip off at 4:30 p.m. MT, with the men’s game to follow at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the teams will visit Midwestern State University with tipoff times of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

KSEL 1450 AM will broadcast the women’s game at Cameron, while KSEL 105.9 FM will offer the men’s game at Cameron and both contests at Midwestern State.

About the Women’s Game
The ENMU women’s basketball team has won four of its last five games, with the only setback coming by nine points to fourth-ranked Lubbock Christian. The Hounds won both games last week, which included a thrilling 58-56 win over Texas Woman’s. With a 3-3 LSC mark, Eastern is currently tied for fourth in the standings.

ENMU is 22-14 in the series against Cameron, with a 7-10 road record. The Hounds have won three straight in the series with two straight road victories. The last meeting between the teams took place in Lawton, Okla., and was an 81-72 win by ENMU. Daeshi McCants paced a Greyhound team which never trailed with 20 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.

The Hounds are 18-27 against Midwestern State with a 7-15 record on the road. Last season’s 61-57 victory at D.L. Ligon Coliseum was the Hounds first road victory against the Mustangs since a 73-63 win on February 25, 2006.

About the Men’s Game
The Greyhound men’s basketball team has won three of its last four and is coming off a 105-91 LSC win over Western New Mexico.

Eastern is 20-25 against Cameron, with an 8-12 record on the road. Last season, Eastern snapped a five-game skid in the series against the Aggies with their first win since February 12, 2014. Joe Clarke drained two free throws with six seconds remaining in regulation and Lamarquis Thompson scored five points in overtime as the Hounds earned an 81-73 victory in Aggie Gym.

The Greyhounds are 14-32 against Midwestern State with a 6-15 mark on the road. ENMU posted a 72-69 win in their last trip to D.L. Ligon Coliseum to snap a 20-game skid in the series. Thompson hit a jumper with 23 seconds left to give ENMU a 70-69 lead it would not relinquish, while Chris Lewis hit two free throws to provide the final margin of 72-69.
