Reminder: Governor’s Cabinet coming to Roswell on Saturday

Residents can apply for services, get direct state government assistance

SANTA FE – Sixteen state agencies will bring forms, fliers and answers to Roswell on Saturday, Nov. 2, to help southeastern New Mexico residents resolve problems ranging from child care to job placement to driver licenses.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, cabinet secretaries and constituent services personnel will meet with constituents at the second Governor’s Cabinet in Your Community event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Physical Education Center Gymnasium at Eastern New Mexico University, 52B University Blvd.

This is the second Cabinet in Your Community event. The first was in Albuquerque on Aug. 10.  More will be held in other parts of the state to make it easier for New Mexicans to learn about and access state government services.

Constituents can use the event to meet state government officials, learn about available services and get help initiating and resolving cases.

In most cases, a valid form of identification is required to initiate services. Additional documentation could be required for specific services, as listed below.

Aging and Long-Term Services Department

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and receive reports on consumer and elder rights and the long-term care ombudsman program.

They’ll also be able to answer tax questions from local government officials.

Department of Health

Get flu shots and immunizations at the Health Department’s mobile unit, and apply for vital records like birth or death certificates. For the latter, bring $10 in cash, check or money order to cover the application cost.
