George Padilla February 22, 1960 ~ July 12, 2024 (age 64)

Funeral services for George Padilla 64 who passed away July 12, 2024 in Seminole, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22, 2024 at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Portales, New Mexico with Pastor Jeff Fox officiating.  Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Jesse Robinson, Daniel Pena, Mike Montoya, Jonathan Martinez, Teric Weatherford, and Jorge Mendoza.  Honorary Pallbearers are Anselmo Armijo, Joe Martinez Jr., and Joe Montoya.

George Padilla was born to Lucy Martinez and Nabor Torres on February 22, 1960 in Wagon Mound New Mexico.  The family moved to Portales in 1961 when George was a baby.  George attended Dora and Portales schools. George was a very special man. He served his country in the National Guard.  George loved music and playing his guitar. He was a collector of many things such as model rockets and trains.  George was a loving and caring person. He had many friends.  He was always by his mother’s side gardening and taking care of her. As his mother always says George was her Buddy. He is loved by many and will be missed dearly. He was one of a kind and will not be forgotten. He is now in the hands of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his mother Lucy Martinez, daughter Sonya Padilla, two grandchildren, Sister Joann Martinez, Brothers Anselmo Armijo and Joe Martinez Jr. and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his grandfather Fred Padilla, step-father Joe Martinez Sr., brothers Richard Padilla, Tony Padilla, sister Connie Foster, and niece Amber Robinson.
