Gary Nunnally passed away peacefully on September 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  Gary was born in Levelland, Texas and grew up in Causey, New Mexico on the family farm.  Causey held a special place in Gary’s heart his whole life and proved to be formative to his future success.

Gary learned at an early age what it felt like to be a winner as part of baseball and basketball teams that excelled against all odds.  He also was a winner in national livestock judging contests that further instilled his work ethic, discipline and drive to achieve.

Gary’s biggest achievement was his family. Beverly, his wife of 43 years, was the love of his life, and he was selflessly devoted to his sons, Chad and Ryan, along with faithful sidekick, Colt. Gary also doted on his mother of 92 years and could not have been a better brother, uncle and in-law. Gary loved his time with Chad, especially on the farm, and was proud of Ryan’s success at Texas Tech. Family meant everything to him.

Gary and his family travelled the world throughout his successful tenure with Conoco.  The highlight of that time was 4 years in Singapore as he headed up that office and the family explored Southeast Asia.

All these global business experiences in energy, finance, shipping and trading led Gary to write a suspense novel in his retirement years, called The Gambit.  He had great fun using his sharp wit and humor to create this legacy.

Gary’s church, Kingsland Baptist, was a huge part of his life.  He and Beverly made dear friends and contributed tirelessly, Gary as an usher and a deacon.  In his 20+ years with the church, he was often the friendly and inviting face that welcomed others as they came in and his Sunday school group held a special place in his heart.

He is survived in death by his mother, Jimmie Nunnally, loving wife Beverly Nunnally, sons Chad and Ryan Nunnally, sister Cathy Nunnally (Lex Gillan), brother-in-law Fred Morgan (Marilyn), nephews and nieces Zach Gillan (Cherie), Charlie Hood, Lauren Hood, Jessica Morgan, Katie Scott (Andrew), and Liz Morgan, as well as two grandnieces.  He is preceded in death by his father Bob Nunnally, his parents-in-law Lloyd and Freida Morgan, sister-in-law Carolyn, grandparents Cole and Edna Nunnally and Charlie and Ruth Alford.
