Busy non-profit (EOE) seeks PART TIME Information & Referral Assoc. Must be upbeat, dependable person with compassion, excellent phone manner & good computer skills. The right applicant will have good judgment, natural curiosity, initiative, and team spirit. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish a must.
Duties: answering phones, providing excellent customer service, data entry & database management. $11 per hour/ 37.5 hr per week. Vacation / Sick Leave / Holiday pay.

The Information & Referral Associate provides confidential, appropriate, unbiased health and social service information, referral and advocacy to the general public by telephone, email, mail, social media and in person; performs preliminary screening for eligibility for public and community services; assists callers with access issues; and ensures that accurate information is available to all interested parties.
• Screens callers for services, accurately records transaction information, refers callers to appropriate resources, and advocates for caller to secure services from public and private community agencies as needed.
• Posts information and respond to requests received through various social media outlets.
• Responds to telephone inquiries concerning the availability of services provided by public or community resources.
• Helps maintain comprehensive, up-to-date information on local health, social and disaster-related services in 2-1-1 resource database.
• Captures changing information on resources and eligibility requirements to ensure accurate information is in 2-1-1 resource database.
• Researches answers to new questions and requests for unknown services.
• Provides specific, detailed information to the public about accessing public private community resources for health and social services.
• Records call information into 2-1-1 information electronic record systems in compliance with contract and reporting requirements stipulated by funding partners.
• Advocates for individuals experiencing difficult or lacking ability needed to make effective contact with agencies, programs and services.
• Schedules client appointments for available UW Game Changer services.
• Provided excellent, empathetic customer service to UW Game Changer clients—follows protocol; respects Game Changer budget and policies; collects required information and paperwork; records services rendered into electronic records system and maintains confidential client files.
• Works closely with other staff to ensure strong coordination and effective service.
• Stays informed on broad social issues and changes that impact human services in New Mexico.
• Represents 2-1-1 and United Way of Eastern New Mexico effectively to agencies, donors, and the public- in person, at info sharing events (health fairs, etc), and on the telephone.
