Recital of the rosary for Francisco Sotelo, 84, of Portales will be held at 9:00 A.M., Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Helen Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection following at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Francisco Carbajal officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Joel Sotelo, Jaime Sotelo, Jesus Sotelo, Abdon Sotelo, Abraham Sotelo and Jose Alfredo Sotelo serving as pallbearers.
Francisco Sotelo was born on October 6, 1937 in Chihuahua, Mexico to the home of Eva (Delgado) and Francisco Sotelo, and died on November 10, 2021 in Portales. He has been married to Josefina Duarte Sotelo for more than 60 years. Francisco was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. He was a very strong man, worked very hard all of his life. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Josefina Sotelo; his children, Jaime Sotelo and wife Rosa, Abraham Sotelo and wife JoAnn, Joel Sotelo and wife Maria, Abdon Sotelo and wife Guadalupe, Jose Alfredo Sotelo and wife Mabel, Lorena Sotelo, Ara Elena Sotelo, Iliana Soto and husband Eusevio, Lourdes and wife Hiliana and Jesus Sotelo and wife Vicky; 42 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three brothers, and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a child, Lourdes Sotelo, two brothers and two sisters.
