PORTALES, N.M. – 2018 D2CCA South Central Second Team honoree and former women’s basketball player Treyanna Clay has taken her talents to the professional level where she has signed a contract with Singleton Supervalu Brunell out of Cork City, Ireland.
Clay dropped 13 points on a five-for-seven shooting night in her professional debut and has since cracked Singleton’s starting lineup, which competes in the Super League, Ireland’s most competitive division.
“We as a program are extremely excited for this opportunity for Treyanna,” said Head Coach Josh Prock. “She has worked extremely hard in her career and this has always been a goal for her. We know she is going to do great things over there and we are all excited to watch her pro career. She is not only a great player who deserves this opportunity, she is a tremendous young lady.”
Clay averaged 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game during her final season with the Greyhounds as she was named LSC Newcomer of the Year as well as being a First Team All-LSC and All LSC Defensive Team selection.
She registered 20 or more points nine different occasions during the 2018-19 season and recorded double-digit points in all but two games, both of which were played in the first five games of the year.
