PORTALES, NM – The Eastern New Mexico football team heads to Stafford, Texas on Saturday to face North American University at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Stafford High School.

HOUNDS’ LAST TIME OUT

  • The Greyhounds are coming off a 59-7 loss to Angelo State on Saturday, October 30.
  • Nathan Valencia finished the game 11-23 passing for 85 yards and one touchdown.
  • Howard Russell led the way on the ground with 124 yards on 32 carries.
  • Bryzai White had three receptions for 44 yards, while Zachery Fields also caught three passes.
  • Defensively, Beau Burns and Lino Odenat led the Hounds with six tackles each.

SCOUTING THE STALLIONS 

  • North American enters the weekend with a 5-3 record. The Stallions are coming off a 42-28 victory over McDougle Technical Institute on October 24.

AROUND THE LSC 

  • Midwestern State tops the Lone Star Conference standings as the only unbeaten team at 5-0 in league play. This week’s schedule includes three LSC contests and two non-conference games.
  • LSC football teams are 37-32 overall this season.  The squads are 7-5 combined versus the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and Great Northwest Athletic Conference teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four.
  • The ninth round of LSC Football Players of the Week were announced earlier this week. Zach Bronkhorst of Angelo State was named Offensive Player of the Week, Alex Shillow of Texas A&M-Commerce was named Defensive Player of the Week, and Kylan Harrison of Midwestern State was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
