Obituary
Memorial services for Faunetta Lee, 85, of Portales will be held at 2:00 PM, Wed., Jan 5, 2022 at the Prince Street Baptist Church in Clovis with Tommy Hohstadt officiating. All of Mrs. Lee’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Faunetta Kay Lee was born Mar. 17, 1936 in Portales to the home of Vera Carla (Turnbough) and Walter Clarence Ellis, and died Dec. 30, 2021 in Portales. She grew up in Floyd and Melrose during her school years. In 1953, she was married to Ronald Buell, but later they were divorced. In May of 1959, she married Henry Albert Russell. He preceded her in death in 1970. On Aug. 6, 1971 she was married to Louis Houston Lee. Mr. Lee also preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1992.
Mrs. Lee lived nearly her entire lifetime in New Mexico. Through the years she had worked at various different jobs, but her main emphasis was always her family and making a home for them. She enjoyed working with flowers and painting, as well as breaking horses and doing photography. She was a member of the Prince Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by her six daughters and five sons-in-law, Laura and Alvie Peacock of House, NM, Gloria and Tommy Hohstadt of Clovis, Tammy and Ronald Blackwell of Portales, Tina and Lance Hill of Levelland, TX, Tracy and Joey Hargrove of Portales and Alice Wright of Levelland, TX; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Rocky Buell and Steve Russell.
