PORTALES, NM – Tuesday afternoon, the Lone Star Conference released its weekly top performers. The Eastern New Mexico University baseball team was well represented as Cesar Capellan was selected as the league’s Pitcher of the Week.
Although the honor was the first of the season for ENMU, the Hounds collected three LSC Pitcher of the Week honors last season. Austin Paisar was the last player to garner the award, on April 24, 2017.
Capallan tossed a complete-game three-hitter as ENMU cruised past Fairmont State. The junior right-hander allowed one unearned run over nine innings and fanned a team-record 15 batters.
The Eastern New Mexico University baseball team will return to action, on Tuesday, February 20 to host Oklahoma Panhandle State. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. MT.
