This week, the Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team (3-2) not only will open its home schedule, but will begin Lone Star Conference play. Last season, the Greyhounds posted a 16-4 mark in LSC competition and earned a share of the league title for the first time since the 1992-93 season.
On Thursday, the Hounds will tip off against University of Texas of the Permian Basin at 5:30 p.m. MT, in a contest sponsored by U.S. Bank. Saturday’s game against West Texas A&M is sponsored by Dr. Peter L. Thompson, DDS, and will begin at 2 p.m.
Hoisting the Banner
Prior to tipoff on Thursday, the Eastern New Mexico University athletic department will honor the 2016-17 LSC Championships team by raising the championship banner into the rafters of Greyhound Arena. Last season, ENMU posted the third 20-win season in program history and made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
