PORTALES, NM – May 5, 2022 – Eastern New Mexico University’s Greyhound Arena will host Spring Commencement at ENMU-Portales, with 427 candidates scheduled to walk across the stage for graduation on Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m.
The Spring Commencement address will be given by 2022 ENMU graduate Ms. Lorynn Guerrero, who was named 2022 New Mexico Teacher of the Year for her work with students at New America School in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Guerrero earned a bachelor’s from New Mexico State University and will be receiving her diploma for her master’s in education administration during the ceremony.
In addition to Saturday’s in-person graduates, ENMU boasts an additional 239 graduates who will not be attending Commencement.
“Saturday’s commencement ceremony is ENMU’s celebration of our students and their families,” said Dr. Patrice Caldwell, chancellor and president of ENMU. “The degrees we award students that morning already changed their lives; those degrees are now their ticket to change the world. I can’t wait to see what they will accomplish.”
