SNYDER, TEXAS – Eastern New Mexico rodeo program finished its weekend of competition at the Western Texas College Rodeo, with a handful of notable results.
Trent Wood and his partner, Hayden Powell of Cisco College, posted the fastest time in the long round for Team Roping. Wood recorded a time of 4.9, just 0.2 second faster than second place in the short round. Wood went on to finish 4th in the average and earn 90 total points (60 points from the long round and 30 points from the short round).
Lauren Ann Hopkins had a great performance in the long round for Breakaway Roping, with a time of 2.0 seconds for the 3rd fastest time in the short round. Despite not scoring a time in the shirt go, Hopkins finished 9th in the average and earning 25 points from the short round. Kaylee Mitchell and Molly Griffin just missed out on the short round, after times of 2.6 seconds and 2.7 seconds respectively.
Eastern New Mexico Rodeo will have a few weeks rest until the Howard College Rodeo on Apr. 21-Apr. 23, in Big Spring, Texas.
