The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo teams returned to action over the weekend, with the women’s team placing third at Odessa College. Lindsey Adcock finished third in the breakaway roping, while Jacob Lewis placed fourth in the saddle bronc riding.
The women’s team from ENMU finished with 190 points. Texas Tech finished first with 340 points, while Tarleton State was the runner up, with 265 points. “Our breakaway ropers did a great job,” Head Coach Albert Flinn said.
Adcock bounced back from a sixth-place performance to lead five ENMU athletes to reach the short go in the event. She took third in the short round and finished third in the average. Tierra Grey finished fourth after a first-place finish in the first go and splitting fifth and sixth in the short round. Teryn Tate split fifth and sixth in the event after a fourth-place performance in the short round. Shailynn Schaefer and Cara Vierstra also qualified for the short round.
Tarleton State won the men’s rodeo with 593 points, while Western Texas College placed second with 462.5 points.
Lewis split third and fourth in the short round of the saddle bronc riding after a sixth-place finish in the first go. Ring Robinson reached the short round of the steer wrestling after a fourth-place finish in the first go.
The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo teams will return to action on March 23, for the Ranger College rode. The event will take place in Ranger, Texas
