STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS – Eastern New Mexico Rodeo concluded its season with a standout performance at the Tarleton State University Rodeo this past weekend at Lone Star Arena. Three Greyhounds advanced to the short go in the rodeo.
In goat tying, Shacie Marr and Madelyn Schauerposted collected points towards team scoring. In the long round, Schauer clocked the third fastest time at 6.6 seconds to pick up 30 points. Marr advanced to the short round after a time of 6.8 seconds landed in seventh. In the short go, Marr turned in the third fastest time at 8.2 seconds. The complied times for Marr lead to 15 seconds in the average, the third best in the competition. Marr picked up 35 points for the short round finish and 40 points for the finish in the average.
Kaylee Mitchell advanced to the short round for breakaway roping after a time of 2.5 seconds in the long round. The time placed a tie for seventh pushing Mitchell to the short round of competition. Mitchell finished 11th in the average after a no score in the short round. In total, the women’s team finished seventh with a total of 105 points.
With Tarleton being the final rodeo of the season, total points were tallied for individuals and team scoring. The Greyhounds women’s rodeo program finished 6th in team standings with 765.00 points in the season, the ENMU men’s rodeo program finished 15th with 330.00 points.
Individually, Schauer finished with the 5th highest points total in the region in goat tying with 375.00 points. Marr finished tied for 18th in goat tying with 165.00 points this season. Marr and Shauer both finished in the top-20 for barrel racing, with Marr collecting 125.00 points, 19th, and Schauer accounting for 90 points, 20th. In breakaway roping, Quinn Leslie collected 100.00 points on the season to finish 20th.
