Don’t be surprised if you find Eastern New Mexico University student Lindsay Bost in Antarctica one day. Traveling to all seven continents, including the icy desert, is on her bucket list.

Lindsay, a business administration major, was born in Phoenix, Arizona. Her family moved to Seattle for two years before returning to Phoenix. When she hit the sixth grade, her family moved again to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where Lindsay would finish her high school career at V. Sue Cleveland High School.

ENMU volleyball coach Sia Poyer, who was looking for players, invited her for a campus visit. He had seen her play at a tournament in Albuquerque. After the visit, Lindsay changed her mind about where she had intended on going. She loved the ENMU campus and thought it was the right place to be.

“I signed up and the rest is history!” she said.

She has earned many scholarships, both academic and athletic. She has been on the dean’s list every semester. Lindsay is a member of multiple honor societies, including Delta Mu Delta and Phi Kappa Phi. Her favorite honor so far was winning “Most Spirited in Volleyball.”

Last spring, she attended the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado conference with the College of Business and landed a summer internship in Santa Fe. After the internship, she accepted a full-time position at Four Seasons. She has worked there since, and is finishing her degree through online courses.

“This is just the first of many opportunities my degree has given me,” she said. “Once I graduate, I anticipate many more to come!”

Lindsay will graduate in May 2017 with her bachelor’s degree.

She has loved her experience at ENMU because of the “close-knit feeling” that brings people together. She has grown close to her fellow volleyball players and business majors over the years and established bonds that won’t break. According to Lindsay, her relationships will last a lifetime.

“It is not your typical, D1 school experience, but rather an intimate setting that you will look back on over the years and fondly remember,” she said.

he close community is what drew her to ENMU, and is the reason she recommends the school to others.

Her future goal, besides traveling the world, is doing facilities management for an NFL, MLB, NHL or NBA team, integrating athletics into her business career. She wants to work game day operations or do strategy and budgeting.

Eastern was the first step toward opening doors for her to get there.

“I love Eastern,” Lindsay said.
