PORTALES, NM – July 29, 2021 – Staff and faculty at Eastern New Mexico University are excited to welcome students back to campus this fall as classes get underway. School officially kicks off Aug. 14 with the annual Dawg Days events.

“ENMU-Portales can’t wait to welcome back our students and faculty to the fall semester, with all the classes, events, and activities that mark a fully open campus,” said ENMU President Patrice Caldwell. “A major part of our back-to-campus activities is connecting students with faculty and staff who are here to help them with every aspect of their academic careers.”

The weeks’ events mark the first time students have been entirely on campus since the spring of 2020. Student move-in day, traditional and non-traditional student orientation, student and community fairs and a community barbeque are among the many events scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 14-16. A full schedule of events can be found at enmu.edu/DawgDays.

A significant part of our back-to-campus activities is connecting students with faculty and staff who are here to help them with every aspect of their academic careers,” Caldwell said. “Each event will celebrate the persistence of students and staff through this pandemic and remind us all of the value of an education that places student success at its center. I’m looking forward to greeting new and returning Greyhounds and welcoming the community to our fall events.”
