Eastern New Mexico University Students, Faculty and Staff:

We are living in unprecedented times, having to adapt and adjust, sometimes in mid-stride, to significant upheavals and challenges. Now is one of those moments. Although we have been excited to return to campus and see our Greyhound family in person again, we also know we must support efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In order to support the state’s efforts to mitigate this pandemic, ENMU will be offering the great majority of fall semester classes online. We will use Blackboard and alternative delivery mechanisms, including multiple technologies, to engage learners in our online courses.

Students requiring in-person classes (practicums, clinicals, some labs) will be contacted by their departments with details about how these learning experiences will be offered. Students should check their fall schedule for changes to their schedules or contact academic.affairs@enmu.edu for assistance.

Graduate students completing their thesis or research will be able to work with faculty and will have access to the labs or other resources they require. They will observe all the requirements of health monitoring, masking, and social distancing required by the University.

On-campus housing will be limited.  Students in need of housing should contact Housing and Residence Life at housing.office@enmu.edu to request or confirm their room for fall.

This will be a very different fall semester. Until further notice, campus buildings will be closed to students and visitors except by appointment. Many on-campus events will have to be canceled or modified. There will be no athletic practices, competitions or organized activities this fall. Athletic competitions may occur in the spring. Some students’ schedules will be disrupted, and some classes will not be available in person this fall. But here’s the bottom line: The University will not take chances with the lives of students, faculty and staff, not even to bring everyone back to campus, which we all wish to do.

For Fall 2020, we believe this plan is the safest and most responsible answer to the pandemic. We know not everyone will agree.  But we know you want to do the right thing. Thank you for helping to make this solution a good one for all of ENMU and our community.
