6/30/2021 | Cross Country PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico cross country head coach Jeff Kavalunas recently announced the final 2021 schedule.
“This is a pretty competitive schedule that I think will get us ready to compete for Lone Star Conference (LSC) titles and the NCAA Region Championship. Most of the meets will have a number of strong Division I and Division II programs to run against and prepare us,” said Kavalunas.
The Greyhounds open the season in Lubbock, Texas on September 4 at the Texas Tech Open. Eastern then travels to the ACU Naimadu Classic at Abilene Christian on Sept. 18.
ENMU heads to the Chili Pepper Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas on October 2 in Fayetteville, Ark. “The Chili Pepper Invitational is one of the top collegiate meets in the country and will allow us to compete against some schools outside of our region,” Kavalunas said.
The Hounds return to Lubbock for the LCU Region Preview Meet on Oct. 9, which will prepare them for the LSC Championships on Oct. 23 at Cameron University.
Eastern hopes to send qualifiers to the NCAA Regional Championships held in Lubbock on November 6 and the NCAA National Championships in Tampa, Florida on Nov. 20.
