ENMU Athletics Launches New Yearly Awards Program

Eastern New Mexico Athletics is proud to announce the launch of a new yearly awards program designed to help promote and recognize the individual and team successes around the world of Greyhound Athletics.

17 awards will be recognized as part of the new program, including the Greatest Greyhound Male and Greatest Greyhound Female Awards, presented to one male and one female athlete that represent the highest standards of ENMU Athletics and encompasses all that embodies a successful student-athlete. Both winners of the award will be announced at the annual ENMU Hall of Honors Banquet, held on a date and at a location that is currently to be determined.

Head coaches from each sponsored sport will nominate student-athletes and individuals for each award and the winner will be determined by a vote submitted by each member of the ENMU Athletic department staff as well as head coaches. Nominations and winners will be revealed during traditional years at a year-end banquet that will begin next season following the conclusion of the athletic season.

Winners will be announced this year throughout the month of April in an effort to continue to recognize the historic year that was the 2019-20 season for Eastern New Mexico Athletics. A complete list of awards and dates tentatively scheduled throughout the month for release are located below:

Monday, April 13th – Greatest Male and Female Greyhounds to be announced.
Wednesday, April 15th – Senior Male and Female Athletes of the Year to be announced.
Friday, April 17th – Junior Male and Female Athletes of the Year to be announced.
Monday, April 20th – Sophomore Male and Female Athletes of the Year to be announced.
Wednesday, April 22nd – Freshman Male and Female Athletes of the Year to be announced.
Friday, April 24th – Male and Female Academic Athlete of the Year to be announced.
Monday, April 27th – Male and Female Greyhound Spirit Award to be announced.
Wednesday, April 29th – Coach of the Year and Fan of the Year to be announced.
Friday, May 1st – Faculty/Staff Member of the Year Award
