The Elida Tigers hosted Lake Arthur on Aug. 23rd for their first game of the 2019 season. Kickoff was at 8 pm, and within an hour, the Tigers had slashed their competition.

There were maybe 100 fans in attendance to support the two teams, and with fair weather conditions, it set up the teams for a great night of football.

At halftime, Elida had held their opponent to a shutout score of 43-0. The 2nd half brought Lake Arthur a touchdown, but the Tigers continued adding to their already dominating score.

Elida won with a final score of 61-6, which was a great start to the season and set them up with a 1-0 record.

The win sets them up as a dominating force to be reckoned with as they face Animas on the road next week in Cloudcroft, NM.

The Junior High teams will face off at 11 am, and Varsity will follow at 1 pm with Elida as the “Home” team.
