If you’re anything like me, coming up with a Halloween costume every year can be a daunting task. Commercial costumes from stores are always pricey, and sometimes even the DIY costumes require some major effort. You can’t be a fuddy-duddy though, especially when the office has a costume party planned. Lucky for you, I’ve found some really easy DIY costumes that are sure to bring a smile to the other party-goers, and won’t break the bank!
Pink Shirt Girl Emoji
All you need is a long sleeved pink shirt. Simple as that. Then strike a few familiar emoji girl poses every time someone asks what you are. Bonus points if you bring scissors to recreate the famous haircut emoji.
Bread Winner
Who wouldn’t fall in loaf with this witty, gluten-tolerant costume? All you need is a few plastic gold medals (easily purchased at a dollar store or on amazon), a loaf of bread or two, a blue tee ($4 at Hobby Lobby), and a sweatband. You’ll be winning that bread in no time!
Harry Potter
With a striped scarf, round glasses, and an eyeliner lightning bolt on your forehead, you’ll quickly be transformed into a Hogwarts student in no time!
Minnie Mouse
Well gosh! Isn’t this one just the cutest costume you’ve ever seen? I’m sure Mickey would agree. Just find a red tutu and mouse ears on Amazon, throw on some black tights and a black shirt, cut out felt or paper circles to pin on the skirt, and BOOM, you are transformed into the cutest mouse there ever was!
Fifty Shades of Grey
Don’t worry, we are keeping it clean with this one! It’s as easy as it gets. Pick up some grey paint swatches at your local hardware store and tape them on a black shirt.
Green with Envy
This one is for the couples with that big costume question mark. Be the punniest pair at the party with this easy but clever costume. A green and a white shirt, green bandana, and some iron-on letters (all from Hobby Lobby) are all you need to make this!
Formal Apology
With this super easy DIY costume, you (and your wallet) will have nothing to be sorry about. Just grab a nice dress (or suit) from your closet and pair it with a white sash. Use a large black sharpie to pen “Apology” in the sash, and you’re sure to bring the pun to the party!
Poop Emoji
If you are one of those people who constantly text this emoji, and forgot completely about your Halloween costume (oh 💩), this is definitely your inevitable Oct 31 look. Just get some big googly eyes, brown felt, and a popsicle stick!
Holy Guacamole
This one is a personal favorite! Just print out some avocado images, and you’re practically done with this costume. You’ll just need a green shirt, angel wings, and a halo. You’ll be a smash!
Brawny Man
Fellas, I didn’t forget about you! And really, who doesn’t have a red plaid shirt? Throw that on and carry around a roll of paper towels. Gentlemen, you’re welcome.
Hawaiian Punch
It’s time to think outside of the box, the juice box that is! Throw on a colorful Hawaiian shirt and some boxing gloves and you’re ready to go.
Instagram Photo
This one literally will cost you less than $2. All you need is a printer and a piece of white poster board. Print out the Instagram photo frame images, glue them to your poster, and you’re ready to go! Your creativity will be #picturesque.
