Eastern New Mexico University has made the decision not to induct a class into the ENMU Hall of Honors for the 2020 induction year.
The decision has been made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, inhibiting the university’s ability to host a large gathering on or off campus for the induction ceremony that is traditional for the induction class. University officials have determined that an online ceremony or any other form of ceremony would not give the induction class proper recognition for the honor.
Due to the lack of the 2020 class, the 2021 Hall of Honors Class is expected to be a larger than normal class to make up for potential honorees who could have been inducted in the 2020 class. The Hall of Honors committee will begin the process of selecting those honorees early this summer, with the anticipation that a ceremony will be held sometime throughout the 2020-21 academic calendar to officially honor the induction of those individuals.
