Portales, NM – November 30, 2023 – Eastern New Mexico University College of Fine Arts is concluding the Fall 2023 semester with free events for the whole family.
The events start Saturday night, December 2, at 7 p.m. with the ENMU Percussion Ensemble presenting “Percussion Through Time—the Evolution of the Percussion Ensemble” at Buchanan Hall in the Music Building.
The ENMU Brass Choir will host a concert on Tuesday, December 5, at 7 p.m. in Buchanan Hall in the Music Building. The Concert is titled “Hail Britannia!”
The “Chamber Concert” featuring the Wind Chamber Ensemble will occur on Wednesday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in Buchanan Hall in the Music Building.
The annual “Holiday Concert” featuring multiple ensembles from the Department of Music and an appearance by Santa Claus happens on Thursday, December 7, in the Ballroom of the Campus Union Building. Kids can meet Santa at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
On Friday, Dec. 8th, the whole family has two fine arts events to attend. First, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., there will be an artist’s talk and gallery reception in the Runnels Gallery in the Golden Student Success Center. Attendees will be able to learn about artists Ann Callen and Julian Francolino’s creative process and the meaning behind their artwork that is featured in the Runnels Gallery and ask questions directly to both artists.
At 5 p.m. the same day, the Steel Drum Band will hold their “Winter Steel Band Concert” in the Floren Thompson Jr. Band Hall of the Music Building.
