Donna Jean Kinkade was born to Leland W. “Tator” Garrett and Zela Mae (Eubanks) Garrett on November 5, 1946, in Spur Texas and passed away with family around her on the morning of September 13, 2023 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Donna moved to various places around Texas and New Mexico, but Clovis NM was always home to her.  She was a strong and independent woman and very proud to have raised three daughters by herself.  She was a social butterfly who enjoyed “cutting-up,” laughing, music, and singing with friends and family.  She loved being center stage.  In 1976, she drove Governor Bruce King in a parade in Grants, NM.  She worked various jobs from the coal mines, independent sales woman of many different companies, to include being in Presidential Status for Avon, and was an amazing mixologist.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Shanon Sawyer of Belen NM;  Sharee Armstrong and Lawrence Gordon of Rio Communities, NM; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Richard Ruther of Clovis, NM;  five grandchildren, Amber and Malcolm Snell of Dallas TX;  Destiny Ulibarri of San Antonio, TX;  Jacob Garcia of Rio Communities, NM;  Cameron and Sofia Garley of Albuquerque, NM;  Lynzie and Tyler Bock of Los Lunas, NM;  and twelve great-grandchildren,  Bryce, Rylen, Serena, Dominic, Anyah, Messiah, Major, Jaxx, Skylar, Luke, Lane, and Travis.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Mae Garrett; her daughter, Tammy Starritt; two sisters, Onita Schillings and Sue Slack; and two brothers, Pat Garrett and Curtis Garrett.
