Clovis, NM: The New Mexico District Attorney’s Association recently announced that one investigator and one victim advocate were recognized for statewide awards for outstanding excellence in their profession.

The awards were presented earlier this week at the New Mexico District Attorney’s annual training conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The statewide awards are voted on by the 14 elected District Attorney’s throughout New Mexico.

Senior Investigator, Adriana Munoz was awarded “Investigator of the Year” for the State of New Mexico. Munoz was instrumental in the continued investigation where she obtained a confession from a key witness which led to two arrests in the 2015 double homicide (cold case). As well as her outstanding dedication assisting DA, Andrea Reeb in the prosecution of Sheriff Lujan in two conflict cases out of Rio Arriba County.

Victim/Witness Administrator, Eleisa Munoz was awarded with “Advocate of the Year” for the State of New Mexico. Munoz orchestrated numerous victims across the State to present testimony to the parole board to be heard during Senate Bill 47. The Bill proposed to allow any juvenile sentenced as an adult to be granted a parole hearing after 10 years and if denied a parole review every 2 years following. Munoz put in long hours orchestrating these victims so that they may have their voice heard on top of her day-to-day heavy caseload.

We are honored to have both hardworking, dedicated employees as a part of our office.
