The Rosary for Dimas Tarango, 73, of Portales, will be recited at 1:00 PM, Fri., July 26, 2019 at St. Helen Catholic Church. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Francisco Carbajal at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery with Agapito Tarango, Roy Tarango II, Luis Piedra, Briana Tarango, Cesar Chavez, Christa Tarango and Andy Gomez serving as pallbearers. Ricky Ruiz, Tino Ruiz, Araceli Tarango, Esperanza Tarango, Ramon Tarango, Mari-Cruz Tarango, Gladis Diaz, Yeralin Chavez and Evelin Anchando will be honorary pallbearers.
Dimas Venegas Tarango was born Mar. 26, 1946 in Los Fresnos, Chihuahua, Mexico to the home of Ramona (Venegas) and Jesus Tarango and died July 22, 2019 in Mexico. Mr. Tarango had lived in the US since he was a teenager. For nearly 20 years he worked in the oil fields in Andrews, TX as a sand blaster. Following his retirement about 6 or 7 years ago, he moved to Midland, TX where he stayed until about a year ago. Since then he had spent most of his time in Portales with his daughter and son. He was a very social person, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Dimas loved to dance, and always enjoyed a cold beer. In his younger days he played a good game of pool.
He is survived by his former wife, Anna Tarango of Portales; three sons, Roy Tarango and Rocio Aguirre of Portales, Rudy Tarango and Victoria Pena of Midland, TX and Rafael Tarango of Midland, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Angel Tarango-Camacho of Portales; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ricardo Tarango of Anton, TX; and seven sisters, Olivia Lozano of Candelaria, TX, Juana Lozano of Portales, Ermilia Lopez of Portales, Irene Tarango of Alpine, TX, Angela Mendoza of Candelaria, TX, Monse Campos of Anton, TX and Magdelena Ortega of Midland, TX. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, Manuel Tarango, and a sister, Maria de Jesus Harrtnett.
