Private funeral services have been held for Daniel Wade Machen, 27, of Roswell.

Daniel Wade Machen was born Aug. 31, 1990 in Tyler, TX to the home of Belinda Jean (Stinnett) and Timothy Wade Machen and died in Lubbock, TX on Sept. 28, 2017. Daniel grew up in Portales, and lived here most of his life. Daniel loved electronics, and building things. Once when his parents had purchased their first VCR, they came home from work to find that he had dismantled it, and created a remote control car from its components. He also liked to build other types of things like jewelry boxes, etc. Daniel was very talented artistically, and liked to draw. However, his favorite thing was to go fishin g. Daniel had lots of family, but he was very devoted to his little niece, Macie.

He is survived by his parents, Belinda and Tim Machen of Roswell; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Matthew and Amanda Machen and Nathan Machen all of Roswell; his niece, Macie Machen; his maternal grandparents, Beverly and Tommy Stinnett of Portales; his aunts and uncles, Bill (Patricia) Machen of Amarillo, Terisa (Andy) Burrow of Henderson, TX, Christy (Gordon) Smith of Abilene, TX, Harold (Kim) Machen of Kilgore, TX, Phyllis (Kevin) Parks of Portales, Sarah (Kenneth) Knight of Great Falls, MT and James (Mary) Stinnett of Portales; as well as numerous cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Esther Machen who died in 2012 and his aunt Tina Stinnett who died in 2005.
