Cutter Jade Watson October 19, 2003 ~ August 27, 2023 (age 19)

Funeral services for Cutter Jade Watson, 19, of Shallowater, TX will be held at 2:00 PM, Tues., Sept. 5, 2023 in the Dora Gymnasium with Pastor Don Thomas officiating, assisted by Tyler Watson, Courtney Watson and Larry Hatter.  Burial will follow in the Causey Cemetery with C. J. Watson, Jestin Watson, Kalin Bracken, Tyler Watson, Terral Watson, Sammy Watson, Austin Wall, Hagen Rains, Rustin Penrod, Colton O’Brien and David Schmith serving as pallbearers.  All of Cutter’s close friends and his family will be honorary pallbearers.  Cutter’s favorite color was PINK, and the family has requested that as many as possible wear pink to honor Cutter.

Cutter Jade Watson was born Oct. 19, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM to the home of Jorie Lynne (Reed) and Carry Jae Watson, and was called home early Sunday morning, Aug. 27, 2023 in Shallowater, TX.  Cutter’s home was in Pep, NM and Portales throughout his childhood.  He attended school in Dora where he was active in sports, as well as FFA and BPA.  From the time he was a small boy he played Little League baseball, football and basketball.  He was athletically gifted, and in every sport, he played in whatever position he was needed.  In the middle of his junior year of high school, he moved to Shallowater to finish school, and he continued to excel in sports there as well.  In addition to the team sports, Cutter loved to ride his dirt bike, or go surfing or do anything at the lake.  Cutter was currently attending South Plains College in Levelland, where he was being trained as a welder.

As a child, he was his daddy’s shadow.  Wherever, C.J. was working, Cutter was with him, but never without his bag of tractors and trucks.  Everywhere he went, he collected more.  Not only was he talented athletically, but also musically.  He played the guitar, the fiddle, the harmonica and even the piano, and all of it was completely self-taught.  Cutter’s family was very important to him, and his favorite role in recent years has been as “Uncle Butt Butt.”

Cutter is survived by his mother, Jorie Watson and her fiancé, Jason Rinker of Shallowater; his father, C. J. Watson and his fiancé, Leslie Patterson of Pep, NM; his sister, Courtney Watson and her fiancé, Kalin Bracken of Lubbock and an expected niece or nephew coming in April 2024; his brother and sister-in-law, Jestin and Kelsey Watson of Lubbock, TX and their three children, Jinsyn, Kaisley and Kross Watson; his grandparents, Sabra Watson of Rogers, NM and Lydia and Dennis Reed of Albuquerque; his aunts and uncles, Terry Don and Valerie Watson of Portales, Billy Joe Watson of Causey, and Kody Del Watson of Causey, Keith and Lisa Reed of Albuquerque and Jeff and Kathryn Reed of Albuquerque; as well as countless other family members and his numerous friends.  Cutter was preceded in death by his grandfather, C. V. Watson, Jr. who died Jan. 1, 2020; and two uncles, Rusti Lee Watson and Scotty Len Watson.
