Portales, NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney Quentin Ray announced that on February 3, 2025, Omarion Price, 19, of Clovis, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault upon a Peace Officer, Attempted Aggravated Battery on a Peace Officer with a Deadly Weapon, and Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer.

The charges stem from a November 22, 2023 incident when officers from the Clovis Police Department attempted to serve an arrest warrant on then 18-year-old Omarion Price. Price fled in a vehicle driven by Sheryka Baca. During the pursuit, Price fired multiple rounds from a Glock pistol at pursuing officers. He was later apprehended while hiding on a rooftop on Williams Street in Clovis.

The Honorable Judge Drew D. Tatum sentenced Price to 15 years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections. Under state law, he must serve a minimum of 11 years before becoming eligible for parole.

This case underscores our commitment to addressing gun violence and ensuring that those who commit violent crimes are held accountable,” said District Attorney Quentin Ray.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Anthony Jaimes and Special Prosecutor Brett Carter. Price was represented by Public Defender Kaitlyn Cochran.
